| | | | | | | | | | A Note from Civic Results President & CEO, Heidi Williams: | | I’m not quite sure how it happened, but summer absolutely flew by—and I can’t believe we’re already heading into September!
As we move into fall, I’m especially excited about the housing work ahead. In partnership with DRCOG, Common Sense Institute (CSI), and CHFA; Civic Results is launching a Housing Solutions & Implementation Academy, bringing together local elected officials, city managers, planners, and housing partners for a series of practical conversations focused on one big question: How do we move from housing goals to actually getting homes built?
Over the coming months, we’ll dig into the regional housing landscape, land use and missing-middle housing, financing, community engagement, innovative housing products, and, most importantly, implementation. The goal is not just to talk about housing policy, but to give local leaders practical tools they can take back to their communities and put to work.
We’re kicking things off in September with the Starter Home Initiative: Exploring Solutions for Colorado’s Multi-Family Housing Supply, in partnership with Common Sense Institute. We’ll bring together builders, planners, elected officials, and housing experts to talk candidly about what it takes to create more duplexes, triplexes, fourplexes and other attainable housing options. We’ll also hear new research from CSI on the cost of homebuilding in Colorado, introduce multi-family model codes, and put everyone to work during an interactive roundtable.

The group met up in Alamosa, CO on the evening of Thursday, August 13th for a joint happy hour with The Colorado Project to get to know one another. We then began the program in earnest the morning of the 14th with a tour of the Rio Grande Farm Park followed by sessions on Good Governance at Adams State University. This September, Courageous Colorado is launching its Denver Metro Activation Tour, visiting communities across the metro area to bring residents, local leaders, and community organizations together to talk about how we can strengthen civic participation and representation in our communities.
